Name? Age? Hometown? Sign of the zodiac?
My name is Lily Lightbourn, I'm 26 and from Bermuda. Funny enough when it comes to my zodiac sign, I don't relate enough to it to know things about what it is.
Did you always want to be a model growing up?
I did, I remember when I was about 5 or 6 telling my older sister I wanted to be a ''modeler" and she corrected me and told me it's just 'model,' so that's how I remember it was something I always wanted.
How did you get discovered?
The way I got into modeling was that I went to NYC from Bermuda for a week by myself and saw a bunch of agencies and in that week I got one. So here I am, thankfully!
What is a typical day like for you? How often do you go on castings / go-sees/ fittings / shoots?
A typical day for me is always crazy busy! Lately I have been having castings, shoots and go sees all day, every other day pretty much.
Do you remember the first casting or go-see you ever went on? What was it like? Were you nervous?
I wish I didn't remember my first casting! It was so bad. I went in for Urban Decay and I forgot my portfolio at home. So I pretty much talked way too much about 'how I could do this job.' So that day I figured that castings are way different then the regular interviews I was used to going on for student summer jobs.
Are there any models you really look up to or whose careers you'd like to have?
I really look up to Liya Kebede! Her entire career is #goals. She uses her career in a way that I think most models should. It's more of a platform. She is a voice for a lot of women who don't have one and I aspire to do the same for someone, one day.
What has been the most fun job you've booked in 2016?
I would say this one (because who doesn't like to play with bubbles!?) and a recent shoot I did withDazed about diversity. It was mainly fun because of the people we shot in the streets and that we stepped into a few cool local barber shops. I genuinely enjoyed it because I too feel strong about that topic.
Tell us about where you're from. Is there a modeling industry in your hometown?
I am from the little island, Bermuda. No, we don't get lost in the triangle! I'm not sure if it's real but there is a strong possibility! A fact about Bermuda that no one may know is that we sit right on top of a sleeping volcano. There is a small industry there for fashion. Over the years it's definitely getting better and bigger.
Do you have any routines before castings or shows that you always follow? (For instance, do you always wear the same kind of outfit, wear the same makeup or skincare, do your hair the same way? Eat the same breakfast?)
Before a casting I will usually wear the same things if I know it's working and I look good. I always like to wear a little bit of mascara and brush my eyebrows a bit. Now before a show, I always make sure I eat so I don't pass out, I'll make sure my hair is super clean so they can style it and I will always pray to Jesus for a good show.
What do you like to do during your free time?
During my free time recently I love to learn by reading. I love to write and watch movies, go to Bermuda, of course, and I spend a lot of time at my church, The Rock, as a youth leader.
Do you have many friends who are models, too?
A lot of my friends are models! To many to shout out, but I love them. As a model, you need to have friends who are models so you can relate to others and joke about different things only other models will get.
What about dating? Have you ever gone out with another model?
Well there is no guy in my life right now and I don't think I'll ever date a male model. If you do, that great but I don't know if I can be with another person that is aware of their good looks because of always being told you look good. It might get weird.
What's something no one knows about you?
No one knows that I really love eating Cheetos at like 3am for some reason. (Or maybe they do know, I'm not really secretive).Read more at:short formal dresses australia
