Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan opted to wear a shimmering gold gown by designer Ali Younes as she arrived for the screening of the film, Slack Bay. In the coming days, Ash will present her upcoming controversial film Sarabjit to the media in Cannes.
Amidst security concerns, the world’s most prestigious film festival gets underway.
Perhaps the single biggest difference between this year’s edition of the ongoing Cannes Film Festival and all other past editions is the factor of possible terror threats.
As the 69th edition of the festival opened this past Wednesday, Cannes was placed on high alert. Anti-terrorist police in full gear, bullet proof vests, helmets and all, have been seen patrolling the sea while A-list stars like George Clooney made their way across. The security measures in place have come in the wake of terror attacks seen across Europe in the past year that have led to the deaths of hundreds of innocent people.
As the old adage goes, the show must go on and so it did with stars continuing to pour into the French Riviera despite the cloud of darkness created by terror and security threats.
A case in point: Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan who has a long history of
attending this prolific festival and was present this year as well, making it her 15th consecutive appearance.
Not surprisingly, the world is just as obsessed with her presence as ever. From making news about her wardrobe choices to hanging out with Hollywood elite, Ash is one name whose global following remains undisputed.
Making her second appearance on the red carpet at Cannes 2016 in as many days, Ash turned heads in a Ali Younes gold shimmering gown as she arrived for the screening of the film, Slack Bay. In the coming days, Ash will present her upcoming film, Sarabjit to the media in Cannes.
Moving away from Ash, several other stars from the world of cinema and fashion also made their presence felt on the red carpet such as Blake Lively, Julianne Moore, Victoria Beckham, Anna Kendrick, Bella Hadid, Kirsten Dunst, Eva Longoria, Jessica Chastain and Naomi Watts.Read more at:orange formal dresses
