Celena Wolfe is a farmer, an equestrian coach and is now the new Miss Galaxy UK.

The 34 year old lives and works in a farm near St Tudy and leads a somewhat double life as a model and beauty queen.

She said: "I am a real country girl. I love my farming, dogs and horses. But who doesn't like to get glammed up every once in a while too?"

As Miss Galaxy Cornwall, she vyed for the UK title with 35 other contestants from all over England, Scotland and Wales.

Now she is bringing home the county's first national beauty pageant win for more than 40 years, as last time was in 1975 when Penzance Sharon Jermyn was crowned Miss Britain.

If her regular job is not enough, Celena has made some 32 appearances as Miss Cornwall Galaxy and raised more than £2,000 for UK-based leading cancer hospital The Christie over the past year.

She said she is only too aware of all the hard work that goes into being involved in pageantry.

"Most people are shocked at the amount of time, effort and dedication that goes into a competition for the whole year leading up to it", she explained.

"And then if you are lucky enough to win, a whole year after too. It's full of charity work, making appearances and bringing awareness.

"The gowns and strutting about on stage is just one day in those two years. We have a saying in pageantry, 'If you want a crown, buy one. If you want to lead and inspire, earn one'."

It is not the first beauty pageant that Celena has won, as she has been crowned Miss South West, Miss County of Cornwall and Miss South West England Beach Body in the past.

This summer she will be swapping her wellies for her heels once more after winning a once in a lifetime trip to the US to compete for the Ms. Galaxy International crown in Orlando, Florida.

According to Celena this is only the beginning.

She said: "It's a dream come true. I've been working for this for two years. But this is where the hard work really begins!

"Galaxy, run by New York born Maria Torres, is the sixth biggest pageant system in the world and I intend to do the UK, and of course Cornwall proud!"Read more at:pink formal dresses
